King County recently transferred ownership of the 42-acre Swamp Creek Park property, located just south of NE 175th Street and adjacent to the Samammish River, to the City of Kenmore. The City is in the process of preparing a park master plan for the property showing all potential future improvements. A public meeting was held in November 2009 to review and discuss various conceptual plans for the park. Based on comments received at the November meeting, a draft plan was presented for review and comment at a public meeting in January 2010. The park will serve primarily as open space and can only be developed with passive improvements such as trails, interpretive information, wildlife habitat, viewing areas, limited water access and associated support facilities such as parking and restroom facilities for these activities. | | |
