Spring Egg Hunt Saturday, April 3 - 10 a.m. Inglemoor High School Hop on over to the annual egg hunt! Children 12 and under divided into age groups and searched for more than 5,000 eggs filled with candy and toys in the open grass field area. Kids also enjoyed inflatable rides, games, coloring activities and more inside the gymnasium.
Earth Day 2010 Saturday, April 17, 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Saint Edward State Park Gymnasium The City sponsored a booth at Earth Day 2010. The event featured food, children's activities, science and wildlife exhibits, energy conservation techniques, tree care, environmental education, and more. Swamp Creek Park Clean Up Saturday, April 24, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Swamp Creek Park The City of Kenmore received a grant from the King Conservation District to restore native plants and wildlife habitat in Swamp Creek Park on the Sammamish River. Community volunteers helped pick up trash and remove invasive weeds. Volunteers went on a nature walk with a professional biologist from the City's consulting firm ESA Adolfson to learn about the park's plants, animals, and ecology. Event Sponsored by Kenmore Self Storage. New City Hall Events The City of Kenmore celebrated the opening of the new City Hall with two special events - an Open House and a Dedication Ceremony. The Open House was held on Saturday, May 8 and provided an opportunity for the public to tour the entire City Hall. The Dedication Ceremony was held on Saturday, May 22 and featured a formal program with Congressman Jay Inslee invited as the guest of honor. Spring Recycling Event Saturday, June 5 Old Kenmore Park & Ride The recycling event provides an opportunity for Kenmore resident to properly dispose of batteries, cardboard, television sets and other items. A flyer is mailed to residents prior to the event. Fourth of July Fireworks Show Saturday, July 4; 10 p.m. Log Boom Park The community gathered at the park to watch a professional fireworks show over Lake Washington. The fireworks show was sponsored by Pacific Medical Centers. National Night Out Against Crime Tuesday, August 3; 6 p.m. Kenmore City Hall The Kenmore Police Department hosted a fun evening for the community with free food, activities and crime prevention information. National Night Out is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs; strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back. |
